>> Global Waste
Project Manager: Tom Spearman
Tom is a first year at Brasenose College reading Chemistry.

The EWBOx Global Waste Project is addressing the damaging effect of poor waste management on the health of inhabitants of extremely poor areas. Toxic gases released by burning, breeding grounds for malarial mosquitoes and rubbish full of harmful bacteria are some of the things that prevent people from having an equal opportunity at a healthy life.
Our team, by carrying out research into this problem, and working in collaboration with relevant organisations, aims to make the collection, storage and removal of waste more effective, at low cost with a replicable model. As the project progresses we will move our focus to a more specific component of this problem.
We are currently working in partnership with OxMak, starting with Katanga slum in Kampala. We are a new project that is rapidly developing and keen to take on more team members. If you are interested in doing some research into the detrimental effects of waste on health, or waste management solutions, or generally want to get involved, please contact
Tom!
