Bioengineering Project
for Bladder Incontinence
(2020-21)

The aim of this project is to design and produce an ultrasound-based solution to monitor bladder fullness along with a sleep app to monitor sleeping patterns to alert users of urinary incontinence.

Urinary incontinence is a problem that affects millions of people around the world. Our project aims to tackle issues associated with this condition.

Members will begin by researching the pathophysiology of urinary incontinence to enable them to gain an understanding of the clinical needs of the project. Following this, members will evaluate the design requirements and create a prototype solution which will undergo rounds of testing.

The project will consist of members working in smaller teams to make the ultrasound probe as well as designing and programming a sleep app. With the direction that the project can run towards being completely open, there are endless possibilities as to the final form of our product!

This provides a great opportunity for engineers and non-engineers alike to get involved in this exciting project.
